Something I really did not think about initially when looking into artificial palm trees, and that is that they are not self cleaning. That is to say, you need to take time to dust and wash these artificial trees. Sure it’s not surprising, but “real” trees don’t need to be cleaned. In the natural world, things happen to keep them live plants clean, so even though we are talking about ‘artificial’ here, thinking about that I will need to clean these palm trees didn’t even cross my mind.
Ok, so it’s not a huge deal to clean artificial palm trees, but you just need to realize that it needs to be done. Usually there is some sort of maintenance that needs to be done with live trees, from pruning to irrigation to fertilization, etc. With artificial palm trees, you need to also do maintenance and this is removing the …

I was looking around the web the other day and I ran into a few websites that talked about how popular artificial palm trees were during the Christmas holiday. These people were putting lights on artificial palm trees and including them either as the Christmas tree only or to compliment their Christmas trees. Who Knew? Did you? I guess I just never have been anywhere or been to anybody’s house that has used a lighted artificial palm tree as part of Christmas.
I’m not sure where this trend started, but apparently it is gaining momentum. I guess, the only connection that I can think of, are those who live in temperate climates where palm trees are common and it totally made sense to include them in the Christmas decorations. Maybe I’m wrong and it was something totally different, but I guess it really doesn’t matter where it started, but that …

I recently read a blog post about using artificial palm trees as a way to create a relaxing environment in an aquatic center at a college. I thought to myself, I think they are right. Sure when I want to relax from the day-to-day grind, what I do is picture myself on a white sand beach, temperature perfect, a little wind, the waves crashing around me and palm trees all over the place. Just that image in my mind can bring a calming effect to me and relaxes my whole body.
So the question is, where else can artificial palm trees be used for relaxation, what types of artificial palm trees should be used, how many should be used and where should they be placed? All good questions. I don’t have the answer yet, but I am going to investigate until I find them.
